Arsameia (Eski Kale) was one of the administrative centres of the Kingdom of Commagene, on the east bank of the Kahta stream opposite Eski Kahta Castle. The site has reliefs showing King Antiochus I shaking hands with his father Mithridates II and with the god Heracles, along with a long Greek inscription. A 10-tonne fragment of the Heracles relief survives today.
