Çobanlar is a small district 25 km east of the Afyonkarahisar city centre, on a flat plain crossed by the Akarçay river. Its economy rests on farming, livestock and sugar-beet growing; the district also produces small trailer-pickup vehicles known locally as 'patpat'.
