The building, used as a headquarters during the National Struggle years, served as the town hall from 1947 to 1988 before opening as a museum in 1996. Its ground floor displays the decisions, personal belongings and photographs of the people who led the founding of the local Kuvayi Milliye forces, while its upper floor holds archaeological and ethnographic finds from the ancient cities of Kyzikos, Daskyleion, Adramytteion and Antandros.
