Bitlis Ethnography Museum opened in 2005 in a registered building of Ahlat stone that had previously served as the governor's mansion. Its upper floor displays late Ottoman and Republican-era textiles, embroidery, jewellery and copperware, while its garden holds decorated stones from the local architecture and gravestones.
