Orhaneli lies in the rugged plains south of Bursa. Formerly called Beyce, the town came under Ottoman rule in 1325 under Orhan Bey and took its present name in 1934; the Durdu Bey Mosque in the centre is its notable monument. Strawberries and sour cherries are grown here for export.
