Green Mosque

Located in the Yeşil neighbourhood, the mosque was built in 1419 for Çelebi Sultan Mehmed by the architect Hacı İvaz Pasha. It follows the "reverse-T" mosque plan, and its portal is a notable example of Turkish stone carving. Much of the mosque, including its inner walls, ceilings and a mihrab over ten metres high, is covered in tiles made by the craftsman Mecnun Mehmet.
