Buldan's houses, dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, are built of mud brick and wood on stone foundations, with wide courtyards and bay windows. Some houses have sections set aside for weaving looms, reflecting the town's long tradition of hand-weaving. Some of the restored houses are now used as boutique hotels and cafes.
