Narman, in north-eastern Erzurum, is a district in the Çoruh basin; formerly known as Mamervân, it became a municipality in 1952 and a district in 1954. It is known for the Narman Fairy Chimneys and the Narman Five Lakes, and the renowned folk poet Aşık Sümmani came from the district.
