Şarkikaraağaç is a district in the Lakes Region, 118 km northeast of Isparta, between the Sultan and Anamas mountain ranges, at 1,168 m elevation. Known in antiquity as Neapolis, it came under Seljuk rule in the 12th century. Kızıldağ National Park, within its borders, draws summer visitors.
