Silivri, west of İstanbul, is known for its beaches on the Sea of Marmara and the historic Silivri Castle. The Mimar Sinan Bridge on the old İstanbul-Edirne road is another of the district's historic structures; Gümüşyaka and Selimpaşa are seaside towns that get busy in summer.
