A Bosphorus palace built for Sultan Abdülaziz, used to host visiting foreign heads of state.

Built between 1863 and 1865 at the wish of Sultan Abdülaziz, the palace served as a summer residence for the sultans and a state guesthouse for visiting foreign heads of state, among them Empress Eugénie of France. After being dethroned, Abdülhamid II spent the last six years of his life in this palace and died here in 1918.
