Born in Kırşehir in 1938, Neşet Ertaş became one of the foremost figures of the Turkish aşık minstrel tradition through his bağlama technique and bozlak singing; in 2009 the Ministry of Culture and Tourism declared him a Living Human Treasure. A former governor's residence was restored and turned into this culture house in his memory.
