Dating to the Medieval period and one of the region's best-known castles, Namrun Castle stands in the centre of Çamlıyayla. Known as 'Illibru' in Hittite and Assyrian times, it is a defensive structure built on a high hill at the strategic meeting point of three mountain valleys, commanding views to both north and south.
