Kalkandere is a mountainous district in western Rize, bordered by central Rize, İyidere, İkizdere and Trabzon's Of district. Formerly called Karadere, most of its farmland is used for tea. A waterfall in Çağlayan village and the historic Mandere Bridge in Dülgerli village are among the district's sights.
