Nazımiye is a Tunceli district surrounded by Pülümür, Mazgirt, Tunceli's centre and Yayladere. Formerly known as Kızılkilise, the settlement came under Ottoman rule after the 1514 Battle of Çaldıran, and its name was changed in 1911 in honour of Mehmet Nazım Efendi, a grandson of Sultan Mehmed V. The Dereova Waterfall, the Harik hot springs, the Bezik forests and the Düzgün Baba shrine are known sites in the district.
