Blaundos, on the boundary of Sülümenli village in Uşak's Ulubey district, was founded in the Hellenistic period and remained important in Roman and Byzantine times. On the valley slopes north and east of the city are rock-cut tombs, a two-towered gate at the entrance to the walls, and the remains of a theatre built against the hillside.
