Built in the 13th century by Ferruh b. Selçuk, the mosque takes its name from the spiral fluting around its minaret. Its interior, made up of domed and vaulted sections, carries geometric motifs and muqarnas decoration; after a fire the minaret was rebuilt, and the mosque reopened for worship in August 2024 following a two-year restoration.
