Gordion
The Phrygian capital and the giant mound associated with King Midas.

Gordion was the capital of the Phrygian Kingdom and was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2023. The wooden burial chamber inside the great mound at Yassıhöyük village is one of the oldest known wooden structures in the world. The finds are shown in the Gordion Museum.
