Hacıbektaş is home to the lodge founded in the 13th century by Hacı Bektaş Veli, founder of the Alevi-Bektashi tradition. Now visited as a museum, the complex, with the Pir Evi, Kırklar Square and the Tomb of Balım Sultan, is one of Türkiye's most visited museums and is on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.
