The tomb in Cizre's Dağkapı quarter holds a grave that tradition attributes to the Prophet Noah and stands in the courtyard of a mosque. Today's tomb is a modern square building with a dome, tiled inside and out. Local belief holds that Cizre was re-founded by Noah and his sons after the Flood, and nearby Mount Cudi is held in Islamic tradition to be where the Ark came to rest. The tomb draws many visitors throughout the year.
