Çorlu is Tekirdağ province's largest district and the second-largest settlement in Eastern Thrace after İstanbul. Known in antiquity as Tzirallum, the town came under Ottoman rule in 1357; the Fatih Mosque, dating from the reign of Mehmed II, and Çorlu Airport, which links Thrace to Anatolia by air, are among its notable landmarks.
