Çandır is Yozgat's least populous district, bordered by Çayıralan to the east, Boğazlıyan to the west and Kayseri's Felahiye district to the south. It became a municipality in 1930 and a district in 1990; it is known for the girabolu, a local fruit grown in its valleys, which even appears on the municipal emblem.
